The French teenager, signed for an initial £36m on transfer deadline day, was introduced to yesterday's match at Old Trafford against Liverpool as a substitute in the 65th minute.
It didn't take him long to score a dream debut goal against United's bitter rivals. His composed finish after cutting in from the left wing was reminiscent of Henry, a player the 19-year-old is regularly compared to when his potential is discussed.
Henry was clearly impressed.
"He stayed composed," said the former Arsenal and Barcelona player.
"I call it 'freezing the keeper' and he puts the ball in.
"I loved the finish. It's a great finish. What a way to announce yourself."
Martial's goal capped a 3-1 win for Louis van Gaal's side.
