London Live - Evening Standard TV Ltd

Full-time. Permanent. Base London.

Salary – Commensurate with experience

A unique opportunity to be at the centre of the most talked-about TV launch in London for decades. London Live, the London Evening Standard’s new local TV service for London, is seeking an innovative, highly experienced TV News and Current Affairs leader to create the backbone of its new service for Londoners.

London Live is the only TV service dedicated to London and Londoners. We’re first on the scene. We entertain, engage and connect with Londoners. And we change constantly to stay in tune with the city itself. We help Londoners to get the most out of living here and will be available on Freeview channel 8, Sky 117 and every mobile platform we can get on.

The Head of TV News and Current Affairs will recruit, inspire and drive a team of journalists to bring London’s agenda to life. You’ll need to understand the nuts and bolts of TV enough to ensure a high quality of coverage with the confidence and interest in breaking with tradition and finding new ways to deliver news and current affairs programming.

Working to the Editorial Director Stefano Hatfield and Launch Programme Director Jane Mote, you will also leverage the combined talents and resources of the Evening Standard, Independent and i newspapers to ensure ground-breaking journalism, diversity and viewer interaction are central to the output.

You’ll need bags of energy, a passion for getting under the skin of London, be digital savvy and have proven editorial judgment and compliance credentials.

If you want an unforgettable challenge then please contact jane.mote@londonlive.co.uk. But be quick – we need to make an appointment soon.

Closing date 22 April.
