Reese Witherspoon's daughter says her mother 'inspires her everyday' in touching tribute

Mother-and-daughter duo are famously close

Ava Phillippe has paid a touching tribute to her mother, Reese Witherspoon, revealing that she inspires her daily.

On Wednesday evening, the 19-year-old posted a photo on Instagram of Witherspoon wearing a blue and white striped shirt as she adjusted a pearl earring.

In the caption, Phillippe noted that she was thinking about her mother “a little extra” that day before praising Witherspoon for teaching her valuable lessons in life.

“This is the gorgeous woman who taught me about the power of graciousness, love, ambition, and hard work,” Phillippe wrote.

“She inspires me everyday to live with gratitude for the life I’ve been given and compassion for others.”

The image has since been liked more than 93,000 times and received a number of comments from people commending Phillippe’s touching post, including Witherspoon herself.

“How did I get so lucky to have a daughter like you?” the Legally Blonde star wrote.

Another person added: “Love this so much @avaphillippe. Your mom has always inspired me as well [sic]”.

While a third wrote: “She’s an inspiration on and off screen and if I’m half the woman she is I’ll be lucky.”

The mother-and-daughter duo are famously close and have frequently walked red carpets together, most recently at the New York City premiere of Big Little Lies Season 2 in May.

In an Instagram story at the time, Witherspoon shared a photo of her and Phillippe posing together, writing: “Such a fun night with my girl.”

This isn’t the first time Phillippe has honoured her mother with a tribute on social media.

In May 2018, the teenager celebrated Mother’s Day by sharing a throwback photograph on Instagram of herself and Witherspoon wearing matching pink pyjamas.

“Happy mother’s day, mama! I’m so glad we’ve gotten to grow together and support each other. Love you!” Phillippe captioned the image.

In March this year, Phillippe also paid tribute to her mother for her 43rd birthday with a photograph of them at the beach.

“Happy happy birthday to my glowingly gorgeous mama,” Phillippe wrote.

“You are such a generous, conscientious, and passionately kind person, and I am so blessed to bear witness to your light and love each and every day! Love you."
