A newly-wed couple that met on Tinder believes it was fate that brought them together - after realising they were born in the same hospital on the same day, 25 years ago.

When Jamie Frantz Burkett and Anthony Burkett from Louisiana matched on Tinder in June 2015, they exchanged numbers and made tentative plans to go on a date.

But it wasn’t until Anthony’s email popped up in a text he sent to Jamie that they realised they had more in common than a mutual physical attraction.

After recognising the numbers at the end of Anthony’s email address, 11493, as her own birthday, Jamie and her future husband discovered they shared the same birthday.

Speaking to SWNS, Jamie said: “Sometimes when you get a text, a person’s email comes up and I noticed Anthony’s email finished with the numbers 11493, which is my birthday.

“I was really curious to see if we had the same birthday, so I asked and he said: ‘That’s my birthday too!’”

A coincidence, but not exactly uncommon - as people typically share their birthday with 19 million other people.

However, the coincidences didn’t end there. Knowing Anthony and herself lived a short distance from each other, Jamie asked what hospital Anthony was born in.

“It was really surreal. We’re from towns that are about 20 miles apart, so I asked him what hospital he was born in and he said East Jefferson. I said, ‘No way! That’s where I was born too,’’’ she recalled.

It turns out that the couple-to-be was born on January 14 1994 - seven hours apart in the same maternity ward with Anthony entering the world at 11:35am and Jamie following closely behind at 6pm.

The closeness in births meant it is pretty likely the pair spent some time in the nursery together, which prompted their parents to try to recall one another.

Spurred on by the unlikely coincidences, Anthony and Jamie went on their first date - where they were even more surprised to learn that they are both left-handed.

And now, 25 years after the pair was born just rooms and hours apart, they tied the knot in a ceremony at their local church.

Of the match made in Heaven, Jamie said: “We’re Christian and we really feel like there is an element of fate at work. I don’t believe it was just a coincidence.”

Her new husband agreed: “It does feel like fate. Everything kind of aligned, it’s really remarkable.”
