Official trailer for Britannia

Game of Thrones fans rejoice: Britannia might be just the thing you need to hold you over until the final season in 2019.

The official synopsis for the show reads: "Set in 43AD, the captivating, anarchic drama follows the Roman army as they return to crush the Celtic heart of Britannia, a mysterious land led by warrior women and powerful Druids who claim to channel the powerful forces of the underworld."

In the trailer, which runs just over one minute, there's heavy rock music, dancing around a fire, beautiful greenery, blood and fire.

While there isn't much to connect plot points, it looks like it could match the drama of Game of Thrones.

Plus, fans who are waiting for Amazon's Lord of The Rings TV series will have something to occupy themselves with until it premieres.

Directed by Susan Tully, Luke Watson, Sheree Folkson and Christoph Schrewe, Britannia stars David Morrissey, Kelly Reilly, Zoe Wanamaker, Ian McDiarmid and Mackenzie Crook.

The full season of the show will be available on January 18 via Sky and January 26 via Amazon.

Britannia is the first co-produced effort between Sky and Amazon.

As of January 17, you can stream the first episode of the show on Sky.
