Frozen 2 teaser trailer

Frozen 2 is already breaking records.

The first teaser for Disney’s animated sequel was watched more times than any other trailer for an animated film in its first 24 hours, racking up 116.4m views.

Pixar’s Incredibles 2 was the previous record-holder with 113.6 m views.

The new clip sees Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and Olaf all back and seemingly training to fight an evil force.

Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, and Josh Gad are all set to return to their respective roles, while Evan Rachel Wood and Sterling K. Brown have also reportedly joined the cast.

Last year, there was intense speculation over whether Elsa will become Disney’s first LGBTQ princess, sparked by the online campaign #GiveElsaAGirlfriend.

“I love everything people are saying and people are thinking about with our film,” co-director Jennifer Lee said in response. “That it’s creating dialogue, that Elsa is this wonderful character that speaks to so many people, it means the world to us that we’re part of these conversations.”

“Where we’re going with it, we have tons of conversations about it, and we’re really conscientious about these things. For me ... Elsa’s every day telling me where she needs to go, and she’ll continue to tell us. I always write from character-out, and where Elsa is and what Elsa’s doing in her life, she’s telling me every day. We’ll see where we go.”

Frozen 2 hits UK cinemas 27 November 2019.
