Deadpool's Ryan Reynolds mocks Disney-21st Century Fox merger

He's not too happy about his new home

In the wake of the enormous Disney-21st Century Fox deal, Deadpool has hinted that he's not delighted about his new home.

Ryan Reynolds, whose Twitter account very much bleeds into that of Deadpool's, posted a photo of the superhero being escorted to Disney World by a security guard.

He later added, linking to a CNBC tweet about the deal: "Time to uncork that explosive sexual tension between Deadpool and Mickey Mouse."

The photo was actually not quite right, the Matterhorn ride being located at Disneyland in California, where the Sleeping Beauty castle pictured is in Anaheim, but the joke stuck, with 55,000 people retweeting it.

Deadpool fans needn't actually worry about the property getting Disney-fied, however, with Disney CEO Bob Iger promising it can stay R-rated.

"It [Deadpool] clearly has been and will be Marvel branded. But we think there might be an opportunity for a Marvel-R brand for something like Deadpool," he told The Hollywood Reporter.

"As long as we let the audiences know what’s coming, we think we can manage that fine."
