Andrew Mitchell agrees to questioning over tirade
Andrew Mitchell has agreed to meet the Police Federation to answer questions over his clash with Downing Street police, it was reported last night.
The chief whip will meet representatives on 12 October, after the Conservative Party conference, The Sun tweeted. Mr Mitchell, 56, has been keeping a low profile since the furore erupted over claims he called police officer "plebs" and repeatedly swore at them when they stopped him from cycling through the Downing Street gates last month.
