Big tour operators to gain amid chaos

The travel chaos caused by the recent political revolutions in North Africa will boost big package holiday operators against their independent rivals the long run, according to an industry expert.

Nicholas Batram, a leisure analyst at Peel Hunt, remains bullish about the fortunes of the larger tour operators, saying the way in which they responded to the unrest would boost their reputations. "These major companies are benefiting from scale and reputation," he said.
